About Us
Our vision & mission
Bloom Well-being exists because healing should be accessible, human, and led by the person doing the healing. Here's what we believe and why we do this work.
Why We Exist
A practice built on a belief
Bloom Well-being was founded by Jemma Mathers with a simple conviction: that everyone deserves access to therapy that actually meets them where they are. Not therapy that fits a template, or follows a rigid programme, but care that is genuinely responsive to the person in front of the therapist.
We specialise in trauma because trauma is often at the root of why people seek help. And we know that trauma therapy done well, with the right relationship, the right approach, and the right pacing, can be genuinely life-changing.
Our vision is a world where no one has to carry the weight of past experiences alone, and where quality trauma care is available to anyone who needs it.
Our vision
A world where everyone has access to safe, compassionate, evidence-informed care that honours their whole self and supports genuine healing.
Our mission
To provide trauma-informed therapy that meets people where they are, builds real safety, and creates the conditions for lasting change, delivered by a team that genuinely cares.
What We Believe
The principles behind our practice
Safety first
We don't start with the hardest material. We start with safety: in the room, in the relationship, and in the body. Healing can't happen without it.
You're the expert on you
We don't arrive with a fixed agenda. We work collaboratively, led by your goals, your pace, and your understanding of your own life.
Evidence informs, humanity leads
We draw on the best available evidence for trauma treatment, including EMDR and attachment-informed approaches, but the work is always relational at its core.
Neurodiversity is welcome
We're a neuro-affirming practice. We work with and for neurodivergent people, and we adapt our approach to fit how each person processes and engages.
Access matters
We believe good therapy shouldn't be a luxury. We offer Medicare-rebated sessions, NDIS support, and telehealth so that geography or circumstance is less of a barrier.
Healing feels human
We don't want therapy to feel clinical or mechanical. We want it to feel like being understood by someone who is genuinely in your corner.

Jemma Mathers
Founder & Director
AMHSW · EMDRAA Consultant · ASD Clinical Specialist
Jemma founded Bloom Well-being from a deeply personal place. As someone who identifies as neurodivergent, she understands from the inside what it means to navigate a world that wasn't designed with you in mind, and how much it matters to find care that actually fits.
Her clinical expertise is in complex trauma, dissociation, attachment, and EMDR. She holds EMDRAA Consultant status and an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist credential, and she has trained in Attachment-Informed EMDR, Relational Integrative EMDR, and Resource Therapy.
Jemma's current focus is on supervision, training, and consultation through Wilde Consulting, rather than direct client work. But her vision for what Bloom can be continues to shape everything the practice does.
