Funding Options
How to reduce your out-of-pocket costs
Medicare rebates
With a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you're eligible for up to 10 subsidised sessions per calendar year. You pay the full fee upfront, and the Medicare rebate is processed directly to your bank account after your session.
Medicare rebates are available for sessions with our Accredited Mental Health Social Workers and Registered Psychologists.
NDIS funding
Some of our therapists support NDIS participants. Sessions are billed at the NDIS support item rate.
If you're plan-managed or self-managed, please contact us with your plan details before your first session.
Private health insurance
Depending on your private health policy, you may be able to claim a rebate for psychology or counselling sessions. Rebate amounts vary significantly between funds and policy levels.
Check directly with your insurer before your appointment. You cannot combine Medicare and private health rebates for the same session.
Medicare Rebates
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you can access a rebate from Medicare for up to ten sessions per calendar year.
In terms of process, you'll pay the full session fee upfront and receive your rebate directly from Medicare afterwards.
Many clients still choose private sessions, as this avoids the need to get a referral from your GP, ongoing mental health plan reviews, diagnostic labels, and allows for ongoing affordable therapy beyond the ten covered sessions.
You get to choose what fits best for your goals, privacy preferences, and budget.
NDIS Clients
We support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
Our NDIS rates reflect the additional reporting and administrative requirements of the scheme. We'll provide detailed invoices with the correct line items for your plan.
Choosing What's Right For You
There's no “better” or “worse” option; just what fits your life right now.
Some people prefer the structure of a GP referral and rebate. Others value the availability, privacy, autonomy, and steadier pricing of private sessions.
We'll talk together about what feels sustainable before scheduling ongoing sessions, so therapy remains supportive, not stressful.

Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
How does the Medicare rebate work?
To access a Medicare rebate, you need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. This gives you access to up to 10 subsidised sessions per calendar year. You pay the full session fee upfront, and we process the Medicare rebate directly to your account after the appointment. The rebate is approximately $87 per session.
Are couples sessions covered by Medicare?
No. Medicare does not cover couples therapy. Couples sessions are billed at the rates listed above and are not eligible for a Medicare rebate. Couples may use private health insurance depending on their policy.
Do you offer NDIS funding?
Yes. Patti Dainton and Bicarra Gazanis are registered to work with NDIS participants. Sessions are billed at the NDIS support item rate of $193.99. Please contact us with your NDIS plan details and we can help confirm eligibility.
What if I don't have a Mental Health Care Plan?
You can still access therapy without a MHCP. You just won't receive the Medicare rebate. Many clients choose to self-refer. If you'd like a rebate, speak with your GP about a Mental Health Care Plan referral before your first session.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may incur a late cancellation fee. We understand that life happens, so please reach out as early as possible if something comes up.
